the story

What would you do if you had Forty-Eight hours to live?

Emily is forced to deal with that question while preparing for her wedding which - conveniently - is also two days away. Starring Chicago's Second City comedians, this film follows Emily as she quickly travels through the 5 stages of grief, trying to appear as normal as possible.

How hilarious.

about the film

Filmed entirely in Chicago in 2 days, the film features actors, improvisers and sketch comedians from Chicago's The Second City, The Steppenwolf Theatre, improv Olympic, and The Annoyance

The film was written and executive produced by Danielle Uhlarik (Emily), who wanted to explore a serious subject in a humorous way.  The film looks into the behavior of people when they are suffering in preparation of a loss, issues of co-dependency and anxiety of settling down for many women & men of this generation.

the stages

The 5 stages of grief mimic the Ku
bler-Ross model, as outlined by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross in her 1969 book, On Death and Dying. Emily experiences all 5 stages of grief as she suffers from her own catastrophic loss:

1. DENIAL
2. ANGER
3. BARGAINING
4. DEPRESSION
5. ACCEPTANCE
